What does it mean to be research-led?

Both Helen and I have a ‘poacher-gamekeeper-poacher’ career path, moving from consultancy to academia and now launching Saeth Consulting. Our expertise in one field has been both consolidated and transformed by the other.  Consequently, Saeth is consultancy reimagined by these combined experiences.

Because of this, Saeth Consulting brings a different way of thinking to your organisation based on this rare combination of consulting and research capability.  We are active researchers – not former academics who moved into consultancy but practitioners who hold both worlds simultaneously.

For us being research-led means we:

  • take time to understand the specific context, culture, constraints and goals of the project
  • connect projects to research frameworks and gather relevant evidence
  • explore pragmatic ways forward
  • prioritise clear action plans and evaluation approaches.

The specific process of each project is shaped collaboratively with our clients as we work across our different service areas:

Following 10 years at Accenture, Katrina has held academic roles at the University of London, LSE, The Open University and Swansea University, where she is now Emeritus Professor.
